Editorial Policy
At News Afrika, we aim to produce journalism that is accurate, fair, responsible, and in the public interest.
Our editorial principles
- accuracy and verification
- fairness and context
- editorial independence
- transparency and accountability
- distinction between news and opinion
- respect for readers and subjects
Reporting standards
We aim to verify key facts before publication using available evidence, credible documentation, direct reporting, and reliable sources. Where claims are disputed or still developing, we try to reflect that clearly in our reporting.
Sources
We may rely on official records, direct interviews, public statements, eyewitness accounts, expert analysis, and other relevant materials. We may use anonymous or confidential sources where editorially justified and where there is a legitimate public-interest reason to do so.
News vs Opinion
News reporting, opinion, analysis, and sponsored content should be distinguishable to readers. Opinion pieces reflect the author’s own views. Sponsored or promotional material should be labelled appropriately.
Accountability
We welcome feedback and correction requests. Where a material factual error is confirmed, we will correct it in accordance with our Corrections Policy.
