  • the statement you believe is incorrect
  • the correction and any supporting information

How we review correction requests

We review correction requests in good faith and assess the available evidence, reporting record, source material, and editorial context.

Possible outcomes

Depending on the circumstances, we may:

  • correct the article
  • clarify ambiguous wording
  • add context or an editor’s note
  • update the article
  • retract content in rare and serious cases
  • decline the request where the article is supported by evidence or where the complaint is opinion-based rather than factual
