The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has released the official payment schedule for all social grants for the 2026/2027 financial year, giving millions of beneficiaries clarity on when they will receive their payments.
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced the official payment dates for all social grants for the 2026/2027 financial year. The schedule was released following approval by the National Treasury.
According to SASSA, the general principle is to pay grants as early as possible in the month, staggered over three days: older persons on the 2nd, disability grants on the 3rd, and children’s grants on the 4th. Dates are adjusted when they fall on weekends or public holidays.

Grant Amount Increases from April 2026
As announced in the 2026 Budget Speech, the following increases apply from April:
• Old Age Grant, Disability Grant and Care Dependency Grant: increased by R80 to R2,400
• War Veterans Grant: increased by R80 to R2,420
• Foster Child Grant: increased by R40 to R1,290
• Child Support Grant and Grant-in-Aid: increased by R20 to R580
Important Notes for Beneficiaries
SASSA urges all beneficiaries to collect their grants on the scheduled dates to avoid unnecessary queues. Payments will be made through banks, Postbank, retailers and SASSA paypoints.
